The Heartbeat of Aurora Mission

Aurora Mission began in 1966 from an evangelistic meeting in Messina, Italy.   From an untried venture, twenty-four people responded in the first week to the gospel message. Each year, for the following nine years, the campaigns would continue to bring the saving message of Jesus Christ to Sicily.

Soon, Sicily saw the establishment of a church, Chiesa Biblica Cristiana. Later, a radio station was added, which proclaimed Bible messages over Italy’s air waves – around the clock.

Missionaries began to join the work in Italy and more churches were born. Today seventeen missionaries serve in varied areas of Italy with Aurora Mission. Eight of these are native Italians. Several are from other countries, burdened to share the Lord with Italians. There are also those who are candidates in seminary training. Aurora Mission is now well positioned to share God’s Word, establish churches, and equip national leaders for service.

Aurora Mission has also acquired property in Sicily to establish a Biblical Training Center to better equip Italian church leaders. In 2004 God allowed Aurora to begin the Italian Theological Academy. This unique training center is an incredible resource for the Italian church leaders as they seek to be faithful in preaching the Word of God with accuracy.
